Church Planting Prospectus

Go Albany

We are planting a gospel-centered, disciple-making church in Bethlehem to serve Albany and the wider Capital Region. Our hope is to center whole lives on Jesus, make disciples who make disciples, and build a church that can help multiply more healthy churches.

Who we are

Go Albany exists to center our lives on Jesus as we make disciples and multiply churches.

The church we are pursuing will be rooted in Scripture, dependent on prayer, committed to meaningful relationships, and focused on helping people trust Jesus, obey Jesus, become like Jesus, and help others do the same.

Jesus-centered

The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus stay at the center of preaching, worship, discipleship, and mission.

Prayer-shaped

We want decisions, gatherings, and relationships to be marked by dependence on God.

Disciple-making

We are building a church that develops disciples, leaders, and future church planters.

Multiplying

Healthy churches should not exist only for themselves; they should send people and resources outward.

Why Bethlehem

Bethlehem gives us a practical and strategic starting point. It is close to Albany, connected to the wider region, and full of people whose lives are shaped by work, family, school, and long commutes.

The area is strong on paper, but many people remain disconnected from a healthy local church. We want to enter with genuine affection, listen well, open our home, and become a faithful presence over time.

  • A place to plant deeply in one community while remaining connected to Albany and the Capital Region.
  • A community with more than 135,500 people within a fifteen-minute drive.
  • A long-term opportunity to develop disciples and leaders who can be sent throughout the region.

How disciples grow

Discipleship is more than information or attendance. It is a clear path that helps people move from first connection to membership, active formation, leadership, and multiplication.

Rooted

A six-week introduction to the gospel, God, Scripture, mission, and church life.

Disciple-making relationships

Small groups of two or three people meeting regularly for life-on-life discipleship.

Membership

A growing church body where people are known, equipped, and committed to one another.

Leadership and sending

Developing leaders who can serve, equip others, and help plant additional churches.

Join the Mission

We are inviting churches and individuals to come alongside us as true ministry partners, helping establish a healthy church with a long-term presence in the Capital Region.

  • Pray for our family, for the people of Albany, and for doors to open for gospel relationships.
  • Share our story with others who may want to help build the network of partners around this work.
  • Give financially to help provide the foundation for hospitality, gatherings, and long-term ministry.
